STD’S
Venereal diseases, or sexually-transmitted diseases (STD) as most people know the term used today, are anumber of diseases which are transmitted through sexual contact most commonly through oral ,vaginal or anal sex.
Venereal diseases are more common than not in this day and age.
Public health authorities have many campaigns of eradication against many of the diseases, which led to a decline in the number of cases.
However, the ‘80s meant the advent of AIDS and genital herpes, which sadly enough cannot be cured by modern medicine to this day..
Medications can be prescribed to help reduce symptoms and pain but there is no cure.
The most common diseases are Syphilis, Chlamydia , Gonorrhea, Herpes, AIDS and Candidiasis.
Sexual contact is also a means of spreading parasites such as pubic lice (crabs) and scabies.
The best way of protecting yourself from sexually transmitted diseases is to use condoms during sex. Although this will not help you against pubic lice, it would at least prevent the spread of infections and spare you the “pleasure” of visiting the STD ward.
More so since, despite all efforts, AIDS is still the killer.
It also pays to visit a doctor for a health check as often as possible, because many people these days have had more than one partner and chances are not always was a condom produced… Yes the age old excuse “in the heat of the moment who is thinking of plastic”
Famous last words people!
Unless you are 150% certain that yourself and your partner are clean and totally 100% monogomous, the risk just is not work it.
The heat of the moment is what has killed many people, all because they dont like a rubber on their penises. No life is worth the risk of one night of passion…especially if its a one night stand.
It takes 30seconds to wack on the dicky cover
Another one is herpes, which is such a horrible disease for the sufferer. There is no cure for this one either, just medications to help ease the pain of the blisters. It is extremely contagious if the carrier has an outbreak and has unprotected sex. It cannot be passed on if the carrier does not have an outbreak and you have sex.
If you must have intercourse , you must use protection and you must inform any partners before you sleep with them of your condition regardless if you have an outbreak or not at the time.
Bottom line is with any sexually transmitted diseases, do the right thing and let your partner know.
Many people do not and its really just not on! Take responsibility for yourself and show the respect of informing any partners, so they themselves can make their own choices.
Be safe is all it takes. Unless you are commited to only ever having one partner and them only having you through out life, then we are all at risk. It pays to practise safe sex regardless if you hate the idea. Until you meet that one special person and know you are only being with them , then the risks of any disease are just not worth risking your life.
